Acer Aspire Revo R3700This is the Acer Aspire Revo R3700, the newest product to come from Acer. This fantastic new nettop looks like a mini desktop while also packing quite a punch, and consumes very little power. The R3700 has had some cosmetic changes; it’s now fully painted black instead of the white trim of the R1600 & 3600.
Thankfully, Acer have fixed the biggest flaw of the old Revo, the stand! The R3700 looks to have a far sturdier stand. With the Acer Aspire Revo 3700, one can easily access the Internet and other web-related programs, but there will be no disks or optical disk drives accompanying this nettop, which can potentially be an issue if you want to play games or watch DVDs using it.
The New Revo 3700 comes with a VESA Mount which means it can be easily mounted to the rear of your Monitor or even your TV, the reason that mounting to a TV is important is that the 3700 comes with NVIDIA’s Ion GPU system and produces next generation video clarity with full HD 1080p.
The input ports seem to be unchanged, still 6 USB 2.0, Media Card reader, VGA and HDMI out. Sadly the eSATA port has gone, but I didn’t use it anyway. If you are not satisfied with the specs, you can upgrade the unit to encompass 500 GB storage space, 4 GB RAM, Gigabit LAN, a multi purpose card reader, and HDMI out. Acer is using the latest Intel Atom D525 processor, which boasts a 1.8Ghz Dual core, so there will be a small improvement over the outgoing model but nothing major.
Since the Acer Aspire Revo 3700 is compact, it can be placed anywhere and it still won’t look out of place. It is ultra slim and could easily fit in the corner of a living room and still serve all basic computer needs, including being the perfect choice for running the office applications that an average person would need. The Acer Aspire Revo 3700 provides its fans a true entertainment experience because of its ability to stream both audio and video. There is absolutely no need to wonder about its 3D capabilities and the graphic clarity of the screen – the Acer Aspire Revo 3700 is truly capable of providing maximum entertainment – entertainment that one could expect from a home PC.
The video it plays over the net is high-definition quality and enables Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and video conferencing through Skype. The Acer Aspire Revo 3700’s case is designed to look sleek and has no visible screws. To top it all, the product works almost noiselessly providing seamless performance while accessing the net, watching movies, playing games and socializing with friends and, because of its high energy efficiency, the power it saves over the day is extremely remarkable.
