Upcoming device to add a HUD to any car?

I had a road-test of the Toyota Prius last week (expect to see a review very soon) and one feature I was very impressed with was the Heads-Up Display (HUD). This is an information display projected onto the windscreen so that you don’t have to look at the dashboard so often. Fighter jets have had this for years, and we’re starting to see them more commonly in cars too.

Well, my family car doesn’t have a HUD, but a company called Springteq are bringing out a combined SatNav and HUD that will project directions onto the windscreen of any car. There’s also a wireless remote that you can clip to the steering wheel to allow you to control the SatNav, which is handy when you consider that it won’t be in the best position for a quick change of the settings.

If this works it could be brilliant and it’ll be interesting to keep an eye out for reviews when the WeGo comes to market.

I’ll admit I love the idea of a HUD, in part, because I can pretend I’m in a fighter ;) What about you? Would you want this in your car? Let us know what you think.
