Star Trek Comp :: Who won?

Good morning all, I hope you have a great day today. Last week we asked you to tell us who played Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation, for the chance to win a bundle of Star Trek goodies consisting of a USS Enterprise pizza cutter, keychain, and a Klingon corkscrew. Wesley Crusher was played by Wil Wheaton, and well over five hundred of you got the answer correct.

The winning entry, selected at random by using random.org‘s very geeky air-pressure seeded random number generator, is…

(drumroll)

T Ryder!

Well done, T. I will be in touch with you shortly to arrange delivery of your prize.

But well done to so many people for getting the answer correct. Thanks for entering, and don’t forget to enter any future competitions – it could be you next time.

Friday Fun: Taysiders in space

Hmm, what shall we have for Friday Fun this week? A game? A video? I think we’ll go for a video :)

What if Star Trek had been produced in Scotland? Scottish comedy show “Chewin’ the Fat” ran a great sketch a few years back called “Taysiders in Space” that might help you imagine what it would have been like. You will need Flash and sound to enjoy this – best not listen to it at work.

If you’re truly confused about the accent just ask and I’ll try my best to pick out the lines for you… although there are some bits I can’t get myself :) Enjoy.

He’s dead, Jim

Completely pointless, but it made me laugh: a mashup of Star Trek’s Doctor McCoy pronouncing various people dead… no, honestly, it’s not as depressing as it sounds. Not sure if this is every instance of Bones’ classic line, but there’s certainly a lot of them.
