3G iPhone - coming 11th July

Apple announces the 3G iPhone - faster surfing, built-in GPS, and half the price of the “old” iPhone.

Top 5 Non-Standard Mac Apps

I was going to tell you the 5 most-used apps on my home computer, but I realised that most of them actually came with the computer and wouldn’t really be news to anyone. So, here are the 5 most-used apps that didn’t come with my Mac instead:

Firefox: OK, so everyone and their aunt knows about [...]

Would you install Linux on your iPod?

I’m an eternal tinkerer, and wanted to know if there were any ways to hack my iPod to do different things. Well, I found iPod Linux which, and this shouldn’t come as much of a shock, is a project to install linux on your iPod rather than the standard interface it already has.

I’m fairly happy [...]

100 apps for Mac OSX

A chap called Chris Pirillo has compiled a top 100 list of Mac OSX apps and being a Mac man I am working my way down the list. I knew of a few already: Adium… CoconutBattery… Cyberduck… Handbrake… Senuti… Stuffit… Toast… and… VLC… but there are another 92 I need to check out.

Thanks to this tutorial, though, it turned out not to be so bad [...]

I Love Time Machine

Just a very quick post tonight, because I’ve got home from a long day at work to find that my Mac won’t boot up. After trying a few fixes to do with file permissions and so on, I still couldn’t get the thing to work.
Then I remembered that, since I upgraded to Leopard the other [...]

iPhone Update

For some reason, my feed-reader had quite a few items about the iPhone in it today, and these three from MacWorld particularly caught my eye:
No iPhone price cut from O2
The iPhone’s provider in Germany, T-Mobile, has chosen to subsidise the cost of buying an iPhone by €99… nice! MacWorld obviously asks the question of whether [...]
