I first “discovered” the Internet in 1995 when my dad signed up with CompuServe. We then switched to AOL (I know!) and I got my own e-mail address. Having my own Internet point of contact, something so commonplace now, opened up a whole world of international correspondence. I’d never been one for writing letters, and a number of pen pal endeavours had fizzled out, but the ability to easily find out what life was like on the other side of the planet was just fascinating.
Mike, who I referred to in Monday’s post about my Blogging Dojo, has a project on the go to collect “day in the life” posts from around the world. Just like those e-mail conversations of yesteryear, it’s fascinating to read people’s posts about what a day of their life is like, and particularly what’s similar and different in other countries.
There’s more to this than just telling you about a cool site, though: Mike’s looking for contributors. You don’t have to be a celebrity to contribute (although it is really interesting to hear how Will Carling spends his day).
Why not share a day of your life with the world? Tell us what happens where you are, and while you’re at it, have a read of what other people have already shared. It’s all at http://www.transglobeblog.com. Go on, you know you want to :)

Thanks for mentioning this Chris. It’s a fun project, and one I hope will capture some people’s imagination. I can’t wait to hear about the day in the life of a Yak farmer from Tblisi!
Great new blogging project from Mike
