One of the first posts I wrote on Geek-Speak was the news that Sky were going to be showing The Colour of Magic – the first fo Terry Pratchett’s Discworld stories. I’ve been a Discworld fan since, ooh, it must be about 1993. I love the bizarre sense of humour and fantastic storylines.
Well Sky are advertising another Discworld special, this time the book getting the TV treatment is Going Postal. Have a look at the trailer below:
It’s always strange seeing some else’s visualisation of a story – and often disappointing as you discover things aren’t quite as they were in your imagination. Sergeant Angua, the watchwoman/werewolf, is completely different to how I imagined and it’s those kinds of things that bring you up short and snap you out of the moment.
Having said that, I really enjoyed Sky’s versions of both The Colour of Magic and Hogfather. I’m looking foward to Going Postal… how about you?

While I have enjoyed some of the Discworld novels, Going Postal and Making Money are brilliant, I really didn't enjoy the TV adaptations of them… I really don't want Going Postal to be ruined by Sky.
Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised! I think I'm coming at it from the point of view that it's going to be different to how I imagined it, so I might as well enjoy it.
