I remember walking down the street as a child with my dad. On the wall, someone had spray painted a large red V. I asked my dad what it meant, and he told me it was just a TV show. As far as I was concerned that was the end of the matter.
I now realise I missed a series that some consider to be a sci-fi classic! But here comes my chance to see, not the original, but a new version.
The reimagined series of V comes to the SCI FI channel on Tuesday 13th April with a 2 episode double bill.
V is all about mysterious Visitors who come to Earth with a message of hope and peace. In their hour of need the human race find their saviour in the V’s, but are the Visitors all that they claim to be? Sceptical humans begin to develop an agenda of their own – resistance.
V stars Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) as FBI agent Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack, with Morena Baccarin (Firefly) as Anna, the beautiful V leader, and Scott Wolf (Party of Five) as Chad Decker.
It doesn’t tell you too much, but have a look at the teaser trailer below (double-click to start it playing):
What do you think? I never saw the original series, but if you did how do you think it will compare?
V premiers on SCI FI (UK), 10pm on Tuesday 13th April.

We've had the new series running here for some time and it's pretty good. But the original was awesome – I think it had more impact on me than any other TV show I'd seen up until then.
If you can get a copy on DVD, it's well worth it.
Turns out the original is available on iTunes! I think I might have some watching to do!
Good to know the new series is pretty good too, I'm looking forward to seeing it when it airs.
