A managed blog (not to be confused with typical <a href="http://www.codero.com/managed-hosting/" rel="nofollow">managed web hosting</a>) is truly a step up from "free services". The choice in your URL is worth it, let alone the control and flexibility you then have. I too have just moved to the thesis theme platform just for those same very reason already listed. As far as I was concerned I was turning out the same style of copy but it was the public perception I was concerned about.<br><br>Having the blog on my own domain has given me so much more flexibility in terms of design, plugins etc. If anyone was having any doubts about going down this route my advice is go for it, it pays dividends in the end.
