Win a Cube Clock and SciFi Goody Bag

This competition is now closed. Find out who won here.

Here’s your chance to win something a bit different, a Cube Clock from Kim & Jason, a SciFi.co.uk goody bag and a 444ml Geek-Speak travel mug.

The cube clock is a great take on the usual alarm clock, mixing it with the stylings of a Rubik’s Cube. More details on what’s in the goody bag can be found here and, of course, you’ll want the mug for that first cup of coffee after your alarm clock goes off :)

How do I enter?
Just post a comment telling us your best childhood memory. It can be funny, a learning experience, or whatever you like.

Please have a quick read of my commenting policy and please bear in mind that only “top level” comments will be counted as entries. You can reply to someone else’s comment (and are encouraged to do so) but replies will not be counted as entries.

Geek-Speak.co.uk travel mugYou can enter no matter where you are in the world. I will send the winner their SciFi goody bag and mug, and the clock will be sent direct from Kim and Jason.

How will the winner be chosen?
I will be using random.org‘s random number generator to pick a position in the list of comments… and the person at that position wins.

The competition closes at 00:01 (GMT) on the 28th of February, and the winner will be chosen and notified later that day.

That’s it, tell us your stories and good luck!

Best childhood memory – getting the Millenium Falcon for Christmas! It seemed massive at the time, sadly given away by my evil parents for a jumble sale of all things…………..

  2. Chris H says:

Noooooo! My favourite was the AT-AT… which I didn't have but my neighbour did. We always fought over who got to “drive” it and who got to attack it :)

Best childhood memory has to be spending hours exploring in the fields on long, light summer nights only to be called in by our Gran for a hot bath and toast on the open fire, smothered in 'real' butter. Oh and watching golden oldies on the tele, you've got to love DLT.

  10. Allan says:

Best childhood memory? Probably Christmas and opening prezzies, when you still believe in Santa.

  11. SammyFace says:

I'd fancied a boy from school for years and after a party he asked me to the movies the next night.

I wore my favourite stretch Ritzy skinny jeans, white trainers and multicoloured sailing jacket (it was the early 80's) and excitedly bounced to answer the door when he arrived. I was mortified to see that he had tunrned up in a suit and tie – he was 16 for goodness sake!

  12. Keith says:

  21. Zoe Homes says:

Hmmm, “best” childhood memory… maybe just “most memorable” would be appropriate:

I remember waking up too early from an eye operation when I was 8 years old. It was at the Plymouth Royal Eye Infurmary and thankfully the nasty bit of the surgery had been completed, but I think I shocked the surgeon anyway! I screamed and screamed at the top of my lungs and to this day blame it on the fact they wouldn't let me have my favourite teddy bear with me!

When I woke up for the second time I remember colour was so much more vivid, so definitely worth it.

  22. julie H says:

My best childhood memory is from when I was about 5 – I woke up early one morning and got downstairs before anyone else and got stuck into a big box of chocs that had foolishly been left lying out in the open by mum!
Needless to say I was covered in chocolate and there were very few left when I was discovered :)

My sister had a go-cart, her friends had a big dog, they thought it would be a good idea to tie the dog (Monty) to the go-cart and one of us would get pulled along (me), this was great for a few yards, but Monty liked cats, spotted one and was off! My sister and her friends eventually found me in the next street, myself and the go-cart were wrapped round the lamp post, Monty was nowhere to be seen! My sister takes great pleasure in telling this story over and over even 35 years later!

  44. MunchKim says:

Mine has to be what happened on one of our family days out! We'd gone to some woods for a picnic and my dad had spotted a squirrel on one of the trees. My brother couldn't see it as each time he looked the squirrel darted out of sight so he went over to the tree. When he got close to the tree he started going round it looking for the squirrel but the squirrel was going round the tree avoiding him, it was so funny watching my brother going round and round this tree chasing the squirrel and he never did see it! (it was one of those huge trees that look like they've been there for ever though in his defence of not seeing it!)
