Apple announce the iPhone 3gs

iPhone 3gs

Apple have announced their new iPhone, the 3gs, and I have to admit that I’ve got my timing wrong! I thought the announcement was tomorrow :)

At first glance it looks very similar to the iPhone 3g, although there are a raft of new features.

Rather than listing them all here, have a look at the guided tour for an introduction.

Highlights for me are the better camera (although, it has to be admitted, there are still better cameras out there), the multi-point focus, and video capture. Oh, and now you can cut, copy and paste!

The only downside for me is that the minimum contract for the iPhone 3g in the UK was 18 months… so I’m not due for an upgrade until around Christmas. I guess I’ll just have to wait to get the 3gs until then! Fortunately many of the new features are available in the iPhone 3.0 upgrade, which I will be applying to my iPhone 3g as soon as possible.

What do you think of the new iPhone? Let us know in the comments.

Took long enough to add it, didn’t they? Thing is, though, I can’t say I’ve been crying out for that. It seems a bit fiddly, but I’ll try it out when I get round to updating. You don’t happen to know how the BB Storm does cut and paste do you?
