My primary needs for a smartphone are to access UpdateLane.com for my real estate business and for email. Of course, I need a phone too.

The problem I've found with most BlackBerry's is their inability to open a file from a link on a web page. The only phone I've found to be capable of opening a file from a web page is the iPhone. The most common file type for my needs is Adobe Acrobat (.pdf). I did test the BlackBerry Bold, Curve, Pearl, and Storm. And, for the website I needed to install Opera Mini.

I recently tested a G1 as well and same problem opening files. The browser is nice. I found the email feature slow to delete the unwanted/spam mail that filters through.

It is fast and easy to delete those emails on BlackBerry.

I do really like my BlackBerry Pearl. I like the quickness of the trackball and certainty of the keyboard. Just wish they'd add the ability to open a file from a web link - especially an Adobe Acrobat file.

Cheers,
Dan
