What’s hiding in the Outpost?

by Chris on May 15, 2008

Braaaaains! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Outpost is a great-looking movie from Vertigo Films about a group of mercenaries in war-torn Eastern Europe who discover an abandoned World War II bunker. On entering, they find it’s the site of a Nazi experiment designed to “change the laws of nature”. Even worse, they find a load of dead SS soldiers… except they’re not dead…

The trailer and website kind of remind me of Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the later levels when you weren’t just up against normal Nazis, but the whole freaky super-demonic ones), and of the WWI levels in The Darkness. I can tell you the WWI/Darkness levels made me jump more than a few times, and this looks like it’ll be even creepier. I have to say, the combination of creepy, WWII and, potentially, zombies scores highly with me too!

Visit the official site – there’s plenty of photos, storyboards, the trailer etc. to get you geared up for scaring yourself at the cinema.

Outpost is released across the UK on 16th May 2008.

Didn’t realise that – nice to think that Govan could double as “war-torn Eastern Europe” ;)

Looks like this is an “arty” film – so it’s not showing in every cinema :( Might have to wait for the DVD.
