This is cool :: Salling Clicker

by headphonaught on April 20, 2008

Salling Clicker is a fab wee app that acts as a remote control on steroids!! It works for Mac and Windows… and is an essential part of my Mac kit. I use it to control my lappytoppy when presenting… using the bluetooth of my Sony-Ericsson K800i and the bluetooth on my MacBook (I used a dongle on my iBook RIP)… to flick my keynote slides.

Thing is… it is WAY MORE than a presentation doofer… it controls iTunes… the DVD player on my MacBook or iMac… EyeTV… VLC (go open source…yay!)… quicktime… checks and allows me to read my unread mail on my phone… check NetNewsWire… iPhoto slideshows… and Front Row.

Its well worth adding to your kit – only $24 – and Salling’s service is truly first class.

It got me thinking… what would I add to Salling Clicker?

  • Some form of TWITTER connectivity – the ability to read Twhirl or another client, for example.
  • Support for Blackberry and iPhone… which I believe is coming.
  • The ability to control MIRO in the same way as VLC or Quicktime

What would be on your wishlist?

Check it out.
